The farmers want government help to cope with the falling prices, and since no western world economy wants to let the market forces play freely in the agricultural sector the farmers will most likely get what they want.

L.A train crash.

A passenger train crashed into a freight train, in Los Angeles killing at least 18 people and injuring at least 135.

I wonder if this is just a sign of things to come. With the huge US government deficit, of close to 500 million dollars, there needs to be lots of cuts, and is this translating into less security?

Hurricane Ike is heading for Texas and some people are leaving others are not. The national weather service in Huston said that those who stayed faced certain death.

Hurricane Ike is currently a category 2 storm but it might become a category 3 storm and maybe just maybe a 4 since it has a lot of warm watter to pass over and Hurricanes gain power from warm watter.

But the category system only tells you how fast the winds are moving, apparently Hurricane Ike is HUGE covering most of the gulf of Mexico.

They say that Ike might cause walls of water as high as 22 feet (6,5 meters) to crash in over the coast and if the storm turns a little to the north of its current projected path then it might hit the huston area hard.

Hurricane Ike is predicted to hit the coast late Friday early Saturday local time, we will soon find out how much Ike will blow.

Okapi caught on film

The okapi a very rare animal that looks like a cross between a giraffe and a zebra has been caught on film. The last one seen was over 50 years ago so this is indeed a rare sight.

Ike is gonna get ya!

Ike riped Cuba a new one and was later downgraded to a category 1 storm on the 5 grade scale.

BUT this does not mean the worst is over since it will pass over warm water again once it enters the gulf of Mexico and hurricanes gain power from warm watter.

Ike is apparently heading for Texas so we will see what happens.

The old farts

The old farts in Sweden want to increase the age for using a so called “EU Moped”

Currently if you are 15 you can get any moped and use it but by the year 2013 there will be a requirement for some sort of drivers license which I think is ok, but the farts want to increase the age limit to 16.

All I have to say is that I had an EU Moped at 15 and I never crashed once, but then again I didn't really start to use it until I was 17 haha!

Anyway this is just one more way for the people “who think they know” to punish kids for being younger than they are and still don't have to worry about gravity or hair loss.

Space Launch For China

China will launch its third manned space flight and there is a planed space walk.

Chinas long term space goals include establishing a base on the moon, which I think sounds very cool.
